Final approach to Atlanta, my new home

Hey,Some of you may know I've been planning to move to Atlanta - I left New York City after thirteen years and to prepare for the transition into Atlanta have been staying with my parents about an hour outside the city. Well, now I'm ramping up and planning to be in the city by May 15th.This coming weekend of the Pete Rollins event is a great moment for me to see one of my favorite emergent voices as well as spend the whole weekend in the city looking at apartments and neighborhoods. So I'll be…See More

Closing in on Atlanta

Hey my new friends. I just got a call back for a second round interview for a new job, that if I get it, will bring me to your fine city. Please pray for me. For those I haven't met yet, I have been transitioning out of NYC after thirteen years and came down here to Monroe, Ga to spend some time with my family and be able to take some time to research new cities and job possibilities - I was open to almost anywhere, but Atlanta started looking like the best option. And now it's looking really…See More

Atlanta October Cohort Meeting: Bridge to Where? at The Grange in Decatur

October 29, 2009 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Recently, North Point community Church announced plans to build a $5 million bridge to reduce traffic for its Sunday services with the ultimate goal of attracting more people. Many of the blog/twitter/facebook commentariat have criticized this project as a waste of money that could be put to better use elsewhere, while others see it as part of a strategy to attract more people who will ultimately give their time and money to good causes. This raises questions of whether the attractional model of…See More

Metro Atlanta Emergent Picnic at Cooper's Furnace Day Use Area

October 17, 2009 from 2pm to 7pm
UPDATE!!Due to the cold, damp weather, we have a plan B: Jeff and I are going to head up to the Lake. If you're feeling hearty, come and join us for some hiking. Instead of cooking out in the cold, we decided a little bar hopping (or staying) would be in order, and thought we'd head into historic downtown Cartersville for some food and beer. We thought this would also be a great opportunity to discuss future cohort plans- like upcoming events. Come and join us for food and conversation. Keep an…See More
