UPDATE!!
Due to the cold, damp weather, we have a plan B: Jeff and I are going to head up to the Lake. If you're feeling hearty, come and join us for some hiking. Instead of cooking out in the cold, we decided a little bar hopping (or staying) would be in order, and thought we'd head into historic downtown Cartersville for some food and beer. We thought this would also be a great opportunity to discuss future cohort plans- like upcoming events. Come and join us for food and conversation. Keep an eye on this spot, follow @atlemergence on twitter, or call Rebekah (703-967-6753) or Jeff (678-382-8849) for updates.
Come join other emergenty types for a day of food, drink, recreation, and networking. Make some new friends, kick some ideas around, and maybe even plant the seeds for some new emergent ventures here in Atlanta.
Cooper's Furnace is located on the Etowah River below the Allatoona Dam, and has volleybal, playing fields, a playground for the kids, and hiking trails overlooking the lake, dam, and river valley. There may even be some kayaking per Jeff Straka.
We will try to eat around 4 or 5 pm and have a bonfire aftterward. Bring your own beer (yes, alcohol is allowed), meat/tofu/whatever for grilling, and a side dish or dessert to share. If anyone has volleyballs, soccer balls, frisbees, etc., those would be greatly appreciated as well.
I hope to see you all there!
